Melted Marine Debris Earrings

Description

These earrings get their color from the fibers of ropes and nets which are recovered during local beach cleanup efforts. Selected cuts of rope are taken home before being washed and dried. Cleaned portions are then broken down into their individual fibers which is melted together with post-consumer plastics to create a lightweight and durable material. These stud “beads” measure 1cm in diameter and are finished with .925 fine sterling silver ear posts.
